Golfing In Arvada
The city of Arvada in Colorado holds many
offerings for golfers. The city is home to three wonderful golf
courses, many golf shops, and of course, many avid golfers. The
courses and the shops are all conveniently located in the heart
of Arvada, a short drive from Denver and surrounding
communities.
Arvada’s premier
golf course is West Woods Golf Club. West Woods Golf Club is a
championship golf course featuring 27 holes. The West Woods Golf
Club is located 6655 Quaker Street in Arvada, only a short drive
from downtown Denver and neighboring suburbs. This Arvada course
has beautiful panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains and the
downtown Denver skyline, offering a great backdrop for a game of
golf. The West Woods Golf Club is owned by the city of Arvada.
The course is divided into three distinct nines, each one
fantastic. The first two nines, the Sleeping Indian and the
Cottonwood, were built by the city of Arvada in 1994. Both were
designed by Richard M. Phelps, one of Colorado’s most famous
golf architects. The city of Arvada built the third nine, the
Silo, in 1998-1999, following the design of Phelps’ son Rick.
The leeping Indian
nine is known for few trees, elevation changes, and Arvada’s
Ralston Creek being in play. The Cottonwood nine has many trees
along its fairway. There are many creeks and ponds, created by
the water from the Arvada foothills. The nine is also near one
of Arvada’s nature trails. Many of Arvada’s wildlife species
frequent the course. This nine has a definite close to nature
feel about it. The final nine, the Silo, is marked by the
obstacles the course offers, such as a grain silo. This nine
offers great views of Arvada’s and the surrounding hills. Rates
at this Arvada course begin at 18 dollars for 9 holes.
Lake Arbor Golf Club

having very well-kept putting surfaces. Lake Arbor Golf Club is
located at 8600 Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada. The course at
Lake Arbor Golf club is a short par 70. It is one of the Arvada
area’s quickest paced golf courses. The course is home to many
tranquil creeks and ponds and some of the best greens in Arvada
and beyond. Lake Arbor Golf Club also offers great leagues and
clinics for young golfers looking to improve their skills.

Arvada’s final golf
course is Indian Tree Golf Course. This course is owned and
