The city of Arvada in
Colorado is a great place to ride a bicycle. Whether a person
wants to ride a bike for exercise, for recreation, or to commute

trail network is wonderful and can take them to wherever they
wish to go.
One of the most
popular bike trails in Arvada is the Ralston Creek Trail. The
Ralston Creek Trail begins in the spot that Lewis Ralston first
found gold in Arvada back in 1850. This spot is located at an
Arvada park, at 58th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard.
From the park, the trail heads northwest, winding near to
historic Olde Town Arvada. After passing through Olde Town
Arvada, the trail passes through some residential neighborhoods.
Eventually, the trail hits the Arvada reservoir and the
surrounding subdivisions. The trail ends when it hits Colorado

is pretty gentle.

continues west to Indiana Street. This trail sometimes requires
the rider to ride on some streets within Arvada.
The Fairmount Trail
is one of Jefferson County Open Space’s trails. It starts at the
Arvada Reservoir at the south edge of 64th Avenue.
The trail follows the Denver Water Boards irrigation canal. The
trail goes through Arvada’s Long Lake Ranch Regional Park,
winding past the historic Churches Ranch. From the Ranch, the
trail heads south through Arvada to Easley road. Since this
trails has a soft surface, mountain bikes are the only suitable
bike for the trail.
Arvada’s Rainbow
Trail starts at 81st Place and Yarrow street in
Rainbow Three Park. From the park, the trail heads west through
Arvada, passing through Rainbow Two Park. The trail continues
westward, going by Weber Elementary School. From the school, the
trail continues to the Arvada Volunteer Firefighters Park,
located at 84th and Garrison Street. This trail is
paved, and passes through many of Arvada’s neighborhoods.
In addition to
trails, Arvada also has many bike lanes on major streets so that
bikers can safely commute throughout the city and beyond. Even
where there are no bike lanes, bikers are allowed to ride on the
road. Many people travel by bike in Arvada, so cars are used to
looking out for people on bikes and are generally very
courteous.
Arvada’s Van Bibber
Trail is divided into three different lengths of trail. The
trail starts on Oak Street, just south of 58th
Avenue. The trail goes through the Stenger Sports Complex and
Skyline Estates Park to Ward Road. From here, the trail goes
west through Arvada to Van Bibber Open Space Park and Indiana
Street. Between Indiana Street and Quaker Street, the trail
mostly disappears, showing up in only short segments in
Meadowbrook Village Park. At Quaker Street and Church Ditch, the
trail picks back up, following 60th Avenue through
Arvada until it hits Van Bibber Creek again. The trail then
follows the creek past Arvada’s historic Churches Ranch. From
Churches Ranch the trail goes through Long Lake Ranch Regional
Park and beyond, ending at Apple Meadows Park.
