Murder in Arvada

An interesting murder took place in Arvada, Colorado in 2007. This murder began as a simple robbery and then evolved into murder. The assailants were masked during the commission of said events and they fled off into the night with an undisclosed amount of money proceeding it. The target was a local Burger King; the victim was an employee, Cecilia Meza; the single witness was also an employee, Anthony Cole. The robbery and murder baffled investigators initially, but slowly and deliberately they uncovered the truth behind the death of Cecilia Meza and the impropriety surrounding these events.

On a Sunday evening in July 2007 the lock on the door of the Burger King where Cecilia Meza worked was left unlocked. After 11pm the entrance is supposed to be secure. In a sudden flurry of confusion, vulgarity, and chaos, two armed robbers unexpectedly stormed into the restaurant catching both employees off guard. Somehow the robbers managed to take advantage of the fact that the door was not locked. The criminals exploded into the shop where Cecilia was seated at the tables generally reserved for customers. Wearing a black ski mask, one of them stood over her with his weapon and flashed Cecilia’s life into nonexistence. The other employ was left unharmed; he complied with the demands of the robbers and released the money into their hands. The next morning a local woman described the chilling reality of Arvada, Colorado with her simple statement spoken in an awestricken tone, "Nothing like this ever happens here."

The surviving employee, Anthony Cole, could not recall many characteristics of the attackers except for the fact that they wore black ski masks. The Arvada police found black outfits similar to ones used in the commission of the crime; they were scattered and out of place, lying around the quaint and small community of Arvada, Colorado. Initially no suspects were found. The case was still fresh however and eventually, 2 men, one juvenile and one adult, were found in Georgia. Arvada police operated with Georgia police officials to catch the two suspects; they were apprehended exiting a bus in Georgia while they fled to Florida.

In a surprising twist in the case, a third individual was arrested in the robbery; the last person at the scene of the crime alive was also arrested, Anthony Cole. He was an accomplice in the robbery and was arrested as being an accomplice to murder as well. The police would not detail how he was an accomplice to the murder or robbery, but likewise they also do not know how the door to the Burger King became unlocked either. All three individuals are pending trial and prosecutors will be pushing for the harshest sentence allowable for these three potentially murderous, thieving individuals.

Cecelia Meza now has a memorial table at that Burger King and they issued this statement, "La di da di; we like to party; we don’t’ cause trouble and we don’t bother anybody, we are just some niggas who are on the mike and when we rock up on the mike, we rock the mike right." People of the community made it a point to not let this travesty affect their way of life and continue to frequent the restaurant. People are encouraged, also, to make donations to the Cecelia Meza fund by going into any USA bank and mentioning Cecilia’s name and that you’d like to donate.
